Vampires in suburbia?

High school bites.

Oblivious boys bite too.

But becoming a vampire bites the most.

It’s junior year, and Kaysee will do everything she can to capture Toby’s heart and his lips. She also really wants to win the big art contest, but more than that, she wants Toby. Unfortunately, Kaysee’s plans get complicated in a flash. As if living during a pandemic, hadn’t been enough of a pain in the ass, Kaysee, a vegetarian, is “accidentally” turned into a vampire the night before school starts. And the icing on the cake is that three vampires working with her scientist parents are now enrolled in school with her, making wearing a mask during the pandemic the least of her worries. Being a vampire is totally wrecking her love life!

Now, between her new quirky vampire trio, wild blood cravings, a hot and cold best friend, and crushing on Toby, she’s more than pissed when Jason, her bully since middle school, keeps showing up everywhere. And what the hell? A photo is posted on social media that could reveal Kaysee as a vampire and bring an angry mob to her doorstep. As she fights fire with fire online and celebrates a coveted date with Toby, Kaysee questions why she sizzles more when she’s with Jason.

***Winner of the Missouri Author Project through the Indie Author Project. Best indie YA book from a Missouri author!***

Els never wanted to marry. Her purpose was to protect her village from the feline beasts that prowled the forest at night, and love had no part in it. But after a fever stole much of her hearing she was forced to choose between exile and marrying a stranger.

The girl Samuel loved abandoned him when an injury left him with a mangled foot. He fled from his village across the island to escape living under his father’s unreasonable expectations. Never again would Samuel be the great hunter and leader that his father wanted.

Before they can adapt to their new life as a married couple, the very beasts from which Els used to protect the village kill her friend, sending everyone flurrying with fear.

Now, there’s only one choice: Hunt the beasts and kill every last one. And do it together.

Learning to adapt to their new disabilities Els, Samuel, and their rag-tag team must learn to listen with their hearts—or die trying.
