Brief Bio

Annie Lisenby is an author of teen fiction and romance. Her debut novel A Three-Letter Name was chosen as the best book by an indie author from the state of Missouri for 2022 by the Indie Author Project. Annie teaches theatre at a local college and leads workshops at writing conferences.

Standard Bio

Before becoming an author, Annie Lisenby was a professional extra for film & tv and a stunt performer for live theatre.

After becoming an author, Annie’s debut novel A Three-Letter Name was a winner with the Indie Author Project as best book by an indie author from Missouri for 2022. In October 2024, Annie’s newest novel Junior Year Bites, a teen romcom with vampires releases.

Now, Annie keeps busy writing and teaching theatre at a rural college in her corner of the Missouri Ozarks. She also spends her days with her husband, two kids, and two cats, all of which are always wanting a snack.

Informative Bio

A native of the Missouri Ozarks, Annie has traveled to exciting places she brings into her writing. She primarily writes for teens and young adults, but also enjoys expanding into other areas too. In most of her work, you’ll find a generous dash of romance. Annie is represented by Amy Brewer with Metamorphosis Literary Agency.

With an MFA in theatre, Annie is the theatre program director and instructor at a rural community college. She has performed professionally as an actor and stunt performer and is a member of the Screen Actors’ Guild.

Annie’s debut YA novel A Three-Letter Name was released in May 2022. It was an Amazon best-seller and best YA novel winner of the Missouri Author Project, part of the Indie Author Project. Annie has also been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul and was a regular contributor to a regional magazine for three years.

In 2024, Annie released From Stage to Page, a short non-fiction book that coincides with her speaking series. She’s spoken at many writing conferences and used the tips from her book on how to apply theatre techniques to create unique writing.

When not writing and teaching, Annie can be found reading and exploring nature with her husband and two children.
